Yoga and Retreat Facilitation
Join me every Wednesday at 10am EST for a 75 minute Gentle Yoga Practice online or in person at Roots & River Yoga in Brunswick, Maryland.
Gentle Yoga Class Description: This practice is focused on slow muscle strengthening, stretching, and balance, this class are appropriate for all levels of yoga student who prefer a slower, detail-oriented pace, including beginners coming to yoga for the first time.
How did I come to love Yoga?
I first connected with the practice of Yoga while looking for ways to reunite and reconnect with my body, mind and spirit after retiring from 20+ years of service as a U.S. Army Medical Service Corps Officer in 2012. I experienced years of chronic nervous system dysregulation, illness and pain. Yoga became an integral part of my holistic healing practices over the past decade to help me to transform into a more resilient and vibrant person.
As a 200+ hour trauma informed yoga instructor, I approach teaching yoga with compassionate awareness. Holding supportive space for nervous system regulation, flexibility and reset has been a focus for my yoga instruction, energy medicine practices and retreats. I find joy in my continued exploration of advanced yoga practices that have been focused toward the subtle energy systems of the body, restorative practices, and supporting veteran/first responder and the boarder community needs.
